Chinese migration to Vietnam was both spontaneous and organized. This community has appeared in many countries around the world, especially in Asia, bringing with it ethnic identity and the ability to adapt and influence local culture. Author Duong Van Huy's work has provided a fairly comprehensive picture of the quantitative and qualitative changes of this immigrant community, especially the increase in their role in trade and integration in Vietnamese society in the first half of the 19th century
